What kind of leadership development programmes do you offer?

Quality leadership and management training for the public and private sectors.

We provide training, consulting, and coaching, all centered around key skills related to leadership and management. We are also currently creating a catalog of online courses on these same topics.

Where are your trainings conducted?

In Africa we provide trainings in two different settings. Some are conducted in convenient, centrally-located conference facilities and are open to the general public.

Others are specialized trainings which target the needs of specific companies, trade associations, or government sectors. Trainings like this are generally closed to the general public and are often conducted in a facility provided by the client organisation.

We also conduct trainings for African delegations who come to the U.S. for a multi-day programme. These trainings combine classroom work with local field trips and other special learning experiences. Local government officials from Nigeria and parliamentary leaders from the DRC are among those who have taken advantage of this format.

How long are the trainings?

Trainings vary in length, dependent on the need of the client and the scope of the subject matter. Most trainings are one or two days in length. But we do offer options which are as short as half a day or as long as three to five days.

Who teaches your courses?

Dr. Mike Armour, president of Strategic Leadership Development International, Inc., is the primary presenter for major events. He is ably assisted by Joseph Nyaia, who also conducts training sessions and consulting engagements. In addtion, we use highly qualified trainers from Africa to supplement the work of Dr. Armour and Mr. Nyaisa in certain seminars and workshops.

What is Leadership Development Africa?

Leadership Development Africa is the umbrella brand name under which two leadership development firms — Leadership Training Associates International Ltd (LTAI) of Kenya and Strategic Leadership Development International, Inc. (SLDI) of Dallas, Texas — deliver leadership training tailored to the specific needs of African businesses and governments. Thus, Leadership Development Africa is the name of an initiative, not the name of a company.

Does Leadership Development Africa receive government subsidies?

No, our efforts are funded entirely by registration fees, consulting and coaching engagements, and corporate sponsorships. While our leadership development initiatives have strong backing from influential government leaders, the programme is a private for-profit enterprise on the part of the two firms which have put it together.

What is the background of Leadership Training Associates International Ltd (LTAI)?

LTAI grew out of the vision of Joseph Nyaisa and other Kenyan businessmen. Their dream was to team with American leadership specialists to bring high quality leadership training to their country and to surrounding nations. In 2009 they approached Dr. Mike Armour, one of America's foremost leadership specialists, with their proposal, and he readily agreed to collaborate with them.

Leadership Training Associates International is a fully registered training firm in Kenya. LTAI has also prepared itself to provide extensive follow-up training and consulting for Dr. Armour’s seminars in Africa.

What is the background of Strategic Leadership Development International (SLDI)?

Strategic Leadership Development International, Inc. is a Dallas-based firm with extensive experience in leadership coaching and consulting. Founded in 2001 by Dr. Mike Armour, SLDI works with senior executives and emerging leaders in some of America’s largest companies. SLDI’s clients have included:
